12.8.16 Temple Trip on Pday

Hola!!

Guess what?!? We get to go to the Mexico Temple today!! SO PUMPED. Seriously cannot wait. We are leaving here in a little bit, and won't be home in time to email later, so that's why we are emailing now.

This past week has been an awesome one! If you haven't seen the Christmas Devotional by the first presidency, I suggest you watch it! It is incredible! And the music was totally awesome. I have loved every minute here! And the frequent devotionals that we have just make it better!

So super awesome experience this last week, the other morning, I really just wanted to stay in bed cause I had a headache and wanted to sleep 10 minutes longer, but I got up and got ready.  I felt like a zombie going to class, and when I got there, we always begin our mornings with a personal prayer before our personal study, so I got down on my knees and offered a prayer to my Heavenly Father, I had so many questions for him, and just wanted to talk to him about how I was feeling, and asked for help to be able to concentrate and do my very best throughout the day.  After my prayer, I opened my scriptures, and began reading. I would skip around periodically and then I found my answer to my prayer.  In Alma 38.2,3, it is Alma talking to his son Shiblon, and it was the little boost I needed for the day.  I changed the words in my mind so it applied to me, and it was like my Heavenly Father was speaking to my heart.  It was incredible.  I am so grateful for the scriptures we have and the revelation that we can receive through them.  I am so grateful for Joseph Smith and that he translated the Book of Mormon so we can receive more knowledge about our founding fathers.  I am so excited to get to share my testimony with those I come in contact with. I know this Church is the only true church on the earth, and I am so grateful to be a missionary, on the front lines proclaiming his work.  It is such a privilege to be here and to share His gospel.  Everyday I can see the Lords hand in my life, and I can feel him helping me along, every step of the way.

I have a testimony of the power of prayer, I know it can change lives, especially because it has changed mine.  I know it can change hearts, because mine is changed for the better every day.
Don't forget to pray, because I know your Heavenly Father is waiting to hear from you and to hear how you're doing.  We are so blessed to have the opportunity to offer up prayers throughout the day, no matter where we are.  He always hears them.  Always.

A couple fun things before I sign off, I have been deemed the mother of my district. Not really, but every one calls me Hermana Mom. Its pretty great, I'll be honest.  I was Hermana Mom within the first week, and just haven't had time to tell all of you.  Haha It's great, I love it.  Also, my first week here I had to give a talk. In sacrament meeting. In Spanish. About the restoration. Haha It was maybe a minute and a half long, but I was grateful to do it.  Especially because that means I should be off the hook for the next couple of weeks.

I love all of you and am so grateful for your example to me!

Love Hermana Brinton

Doing Good! :)

01.16.17 - Changes!

Hello everyone!!  I hope all of you are doing splendidly. I'm doing wonderful! I´m loving my mission so much! I love the people, I love the food, I love the mountains we have to climb everyday. The literal ones, and the spiritual ones.  I am so grateful for this sacred time for me to learn, grow, and teach. Inviting others to come to Christ has been so incredible, because everyday we do it, my relationship with my Father in Heaven grows more and more.  Changes! So last night, we got a phone call from our AP, and he let us know that we are having changes. I don´t know why, but I´m moving areas. I´m headed back up to Cuernavaca with some other missionaries. When I get more details, I let you all know why haha :)  This last week was an awesome one! Lots of teaching, and lots of growing. We also discovered that my companion has low blood pressure, and bad circulation. So she needs to get some shots for it I guess... She´s been complaining of her arms and legs feeling tingly,

12.27.17 - In Cuernavaca Already!

December 27, 2016 Dear Brinton Family, We are happy to let you know that your daughter has arrived safe and sound in the Mexico Cuernavaca Mission.  She has been assigned to serve in the Sauces area in the Chilpancingo Zone.  Her trainer is Sister Rosales. We are grateful to be able to serve with her in the work of the Lord. This will be a time of much service and work that will bring growth and learning for your daughter.  We hope that her experience here will strengthen her testimony and prepare her to be a good wife, mother and future leader in the church.  Her experiences in the mission field will contribute to her development as a faithful and righteous servant of the Lord. Your love and support will do much to lift and bless your missionary.  We hope you will write her regularly, encouraging her to do her best. Together with this letter you will find a picture that was taken the first day that Sister Brinton was with Sister Ávila and me.    We thank you for the l

05.01.17 - Transfers!

So Hermana Can and I didn't have transfers this week and we are suuuuper happy about that. We'll be sticking here together until June!!! There is never a dull moment with her. haha teaching is absolutely wonderful, and we're finding new people every week. The work is hastening and I love being a part of it!  This last week we had a conference on Family History... or maybe it was two weeks ago, I truthfully don't remember. But! I want to encourage all of you to get to work on your family history! It's so incredible the Spirit that we can feel, and the protective power that we receive.  I just want to let you all know how much I love you and how grateful I am for all of you. I know that missionary work is the work of God, and that we're living in the latter days. I am so grateful to be here and sharing this message with the people we meet every day.  Things to remember for this week:  1. Every member is a missionary 2. All things work out in the end
