2.15.17 - Hola Amigos!!

Hello everybody!

So sorry I didn´t get a written email sent out last week. It was kind of crazy.  And the time we`re given just flies by haha. We are doing awesome here in good ol Chilpo.  I love my area so much and I love the people. Everyday it`s getting a little bit hotter, and the work just keeps getting better and better. I love getting to serve the Lord at this time, and I love the people I´m serving with.  Just lots of love!! :) And the food is wonderful. hahha at this point, I can handle the spicy foods a lot better than my companion... and she´s from El Salvador. I´m not entirely sure how spicy they like the food there, but she doesn´t like too much spicy here. So that keeps it interesting :)  Oh my heavens, one of the members here makes tacos in the evening for a living and hoooooly smokies. Literally the best tacos I have ever had in my whole life.  SO GOOD. just had to share that with you :)

The past couple of weeks have been wonderful. We´ve been teaching lots of people, trying to get some of the less actives reactivated, and growing spiritually. We have had some pretty incredible lessons, with investigators, less actives and members. In a few of our lessons, we´ve been sharing some of the Mormon messages or short clips of talks from general conference.  One of our lessons was with a less active, Dalia, and she is just an angel. I love her to pieces. We showed one of the videos, and holy guacamole.... the spirit was so strong.  We shared our testimonies and we truly felt like instruments in the hands of the Lord... It was incredible.  She has some pretty big changes to make in her life, but I have no doubt she can do them if she puts her trust in the Lord.

We had another lesson with an investigator, Delfina, and she is an angel too. (hehe everyone is an angel and I love them all) We shared the same video with her and we could see the spirit touch her heart.  She said the closing prayer, and was so overcome with the spirit. We stayed and talked with her a little bit after our lesson with her, and we think she is close to changing her mind about being baptized.  (fingers crossed!)

We met someone new this week! His name is Rigo, and we had an awesome lesson with him.  The first lesson, he told us that he was already baptized... and then we started talking about the authority necessary for baptism, and 5 minutes later he told us he wanted to be baptized into our church!!! yay!!!! only sad thing is, is that he lives in a different area. but works in our area... so we´ll be doing some double team work duty with the missionaries in the other area ;) He came to church on Sunday and loved it.  We are so excited for him, and hope he keeps his strong desire to be baptized.

Fun fact: my companion and I are basically pros at making tortillas. hahah kidding, we´re actually pretty bad at it.  We went to visit one of our investigators, and they sell tortillas. We helped, and then bought the tortillas we made because they looked pretty rough... but we had a quick lesson with them, and met her sister. Our little lesson with her was literally 5 minutes, but we could feel the spirit, and we´re hoping she wants to continue receiving lessons.
All in all, the past couple of weeks have been wonderful. I have learned so much, and grown so much... well, I feel like I have.  Everyday is another day to learn something new, and try even harder than the day before.
I love you all so much and am so grateful for you!!

Love Hermana Brinton

Abuelita, Hermana Mari Lara, she´s our abuelita here, and literally the sweetest

Picatas! One of my most favorite foods here... not sure if that´s spelled correctly though haha oops.

  1. It's so nice to see you enjoying your mission and getting to know these nice people. I so much appreciate the kind lady missionary who taught me the gospel and helped me come into the church a long time ago.

01.16.17 - Changes!

Hello everyone!!  I hope all of you are doing splendidly. I'm doing wonderful! I´m loving my mission so much! I love the people, I love the food, I love the mountains we have to climb everyday. The literal ones, and the spiritual ones.  I am so grateful for this sacred time for me to learn, grow, and teach. Inviting others to come to Christ has been so incredible, because everyday we do it, my relationship with my Father in Heaven grows more and more.  Changes! So last night, we got a phone call from our AP, and he let us know that we are having changes. I don´t know why, but I´m moving areas. I´m headed back up to Cuernavaca with some other missionaries. When I get more details, I let you all know why haha :)  This last week was an awesome one! Lots of teaching, and lots of growing. We also discovered that my companion has low blood pressure, and bad circulation. So she needs to get some shots for it I guess... She´s been complaining of her arms and legs feeling tingly,

05.01.17 - Transfers!

So Hermana Can and I didn't have transfers this week and we are suuuuper happy about that. We'll be sticking here together until June!!! There is never a dull moment with her. haha teaching is absolutely wonderful, and we're finding new people every week. The work is hastening and I love being a part of it!  This last week we had a conference on Family History... or maybe it was two weeks ago, I truthfully don't remember. But! I want to encourage all of you to get to work on your family history! It's so incredible the Spirit that we can feel, and the protective power that we receive.  I just want to let you all know how much I love you and how grateful I am for all of you. I know that missionary work is the work of God, and that we're living in the latter days. I am so grateful to be here and sharing this message with the people we meet every day.  Things to remember for this week:  1. Every member is a missionary 2. All things work out in the end

12.27.17 - In Cuernavaca Already!

December 27, 2016 Dear Brinton Family, We are happy to let you know that your daughter has arrived safe and sound in the Mexico Cuernavaca Mission.  She has been assigned to serve in the Sauces area in the Chilpancingo Zone.  Her trainer is Sister Rosales. We are grateful to be able to serve with her in the work of the Lord. This will be a time of much service and work that will bring growth and learning for your daughter.  We hope that her experience here will strengthen her testimony and prepare her to be a good wife, mother and future leader in the church.  Her experiences in the mission field will contribute to her development as a faithful and righteous servant of the Lord. Your love and support will do much to lift and bless your missionary.  We hope you will write her regularly, encouraging her to do her best. Together with this letter you will find a picture that was taken the first day that Sister Brinton was with Sister Ávila and me.    We thank you for the l
